Channel 4 has given comedian Jimmy Carr the opportunity to do what many viewers may have wished to do for months – shut up the opera singer in the GoCompare.com ads by grabbing him where it hurts most.Carr will be hijacking all the ads during a commercial break in Channel 4's Comedy Gala broadcast on Monday evening and taking the mickey out of campaigns for brands including Guinness and Churchill, as well as GoCompare.com.

The two-hour long Comedy Gala, which will air on Channel 4 on Monday at 9pm, primarily features stand up routines with a line up including Jonathan Ross, Catherine Tate and David Mitchell.This year the gala's production company, Open Mike, wanted to try and "continue the laughs into the ad break".Carr will have a pop at ads from Guinness, Specsavers, Churchill, Kerry Low Low Cheese and GoCompare.com.

In the GoCompare.com ad Carr grabs the annoying opera singer Gio Compario by his testicles in order to make a comparison of his own.In the Kerry Low Low Cheese ad, which features a mouse dodging thousands of traps, he comments that the ad is about how ineffectual mousetraps are.

Jimmy Carr - Heads To Spa Pavilion

Jimmy Carr will be at the resort on Saturday, September 4, for the start of his brand new Laughter Therapy tour.Over the last ten years Carr - who has performed his stand-up shows to more than one million people in the UK - has secured his place in the premier league of British comics.

He has a British Comedy Award for Best Live Stand Up Tour, a Loaded LAFTA Award for Best Stand Up, a Perrier Award nomination, Best Stand Up at the Time Out Awards and Best on Screen Newcomer from the Royal Television Society. Carr recently finished hosting Roasts for C4 as well as writing and filming the eighth series of comedy panel show 8 Out of 10 Cats. Jiimy Carr - Biography

James Anthony Patrick "Jimmy" Carr (born 15 September 1972) is an Anglo-Irish comedian, known for his deadpan delivery and dark humour. He is also a writer, actor and presenter of radio and television.A former marketing executive for Shell Carr moved to a career in comedy in 2000. After becoming established as a stand-up comedian, Carr began to appear in a number of Channel 4 television shows, most notably as the host of the panel show 8 Out of 10 Cats
Carr holds dual Irish-British citizenship, as he was born in London to Irish parents from Limerick. He attended Burnham Grammar School and Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe, along with rugby player Matt Dawson, before gaining a place at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, where he graduated with a 2:1 degree in political sciences.

Television
Whilst working at JC Productions with his father, Carr made his first television pilot / short film at Pinewood starring Craig Charles, Roy Dotrice and himself. The mockumentary, The Colour of Funny was essentially a vanity project for Carr.

Hosting
Carr has hosted Channel 4 game shows Distraction and Your Face or Mine?. He has also presented the 100s series of programmes for Channel 4: 100 Worst Pop Records, 100 Worst Britons, 100 Greatest Cartoon Characters, 100 people who look most like Jimmy Carr (a spoof) and 100 Scary Moments'." Carr has also presented a series of Commercial Breakdown.From 2004 to 2006, Carr hosted a United States version of Distraction for Comedy Central. Also he was nominated for the 2006 Rose d'Or award for best game show host. Carr presents the Big Fat Quiz of the Year on Channel 4, having presented the first 5 shows each December (2005–2009). He currently hosts the quiz show 8 Out of 10 Cats.
